The Mystery of Love

 Love can be the source of so many things. It can be a catalyst for change, a source of healing, or a source of pain. It causes some to choose to not move on in toxic situations. It leads others to abandon all rationale and take on impossible tasks. It can be a source of inspiration, personal growth, and self-expression. The element that makes love a mystery is understanding how to engage in it and endure even when it leaves one open to pain. When is it appropriate to hold on because of love? Additionally, hurt, resentment, and disappointment seem to be unavoidable when love is involved. How does one navigate through this and what is true when it comes to this experience called "love"? This appears to be a good place to start. There are different types of love and your ability to engage in this experience in a healthy manner depends on your definition of it and your level of love for self. There Is Beauty in Imperfection

         Recently there has been a lot of buzz online about being perfectly imperfect, finding the beauty in brokenness, and being okay with not being perfect. This is a similar message. Self-acceptance is a concept that requires a person to identify and embrace all aspects of their true self. This implies the parts that are recognized as being favorable as well as the parts that would typically be rejected or disapproved by others. The first step in making changes (if you find it necessary to make changes) is embracing what is there. We must first identify, then acknowledge, and finally embrace. This process does not have a time frame, but it is important to honor your own time. If you identify a trait that may be labeled as a limitation, but it has served as motivation or even charm for you, express gratitude for it. Some of our "flaws" allows us to be relatable to others. Some of our traits let others know that it is okay to be their authentic selves as well...
